Does anyone have any medical weight loss program recommendations? Non-surgical is preferred? Something the is medically supervised and includes counseling would be ideal. Also, something covered by insurance would be great. Thanks in advance.

In search of a woman that goes by the name Silver

Hello All,

A number of years ago when I was involved in the management of a local renaissance faire, the was a woman who auditioned for us who went by the name Silver. Unfortunately, the entertainment director chose not to cast her. however, I am currently working on a short film project for which I think she might be suited. I am looking at shooting at some point in March. If you know Silver could you please have her contact me, John Hidalgo, at instructor@roundrockbujinkan.com or (512) 656-2836.

Thanks for your help.

I hope someone can help. I am looking for a location for a short film project that I am looking to shoot in the next few months.

I am looking for either :

A) A cave location or something that could pass for a cave or small cave like alcove.

or

B) An inexpensive studio space where I could build said cave type set.

I would ideally like to find a space that would allow for a couple of torches but it is not a deal breaker. An outdoor location like a quarry might work, too.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you saw ME in a police car, what would you think I got arrested for?

Answer me, then if you want, post to your own journal and see how many crimes you get accused of.

Hello All,

I just wanted to extend and invitation to an Alien Lethargathon being at at
noon on Sunday 26OCT08.

So what is a Lethargathon? Well basically, everyone gets together to what
movies and hang out. Usually, a lethargathon has a theme. This one will be
Alien. We will start at noon with the first one in the series and continue
on through until we finish the series. I will have snacks but people are
welcome to bring what ever they like.

The will be held at my place. Te-mail me at oniyama@texas.net for details.

Take care,
John

Hello folks,

I hope someone can help me out. I am looking for a small theater that can be rented. I am looking for something on the small side for me and a few friends. Big comfortable chairs is a plus but theater type seating would be fine. I am looking at having an Alien Lethargathon (Alien movie marathon) and while I can do this in my apartment it would be cool to do it in a mini-theater situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
John

So over the last few days I have had a few episodes where I feel a little light headed and feel a little bit of pressure in my head. Well, this morning when I am checking my e-mail the room starts spinning. This was quickly followed by a run to the bathroom for a quick bout of dry heaves. big fun, let me tell you. I go to the doctor and he tells me that there is a strain of flu that is going around that has been causing these sort of symptoms. Sadly there is little to be done but keep the fluids up and let it take its course. Great.

I had to teach my martial arts class tonight. Yep. That was an adventure.

On top of this I did something (I'm not sure what) to my left a hip and knee that has them out of whack and in a little pain.

It just has not been my day.

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

HFPS - The Humanitarian

You perceive the world with particular attention to humanity. You focus on what's in front of you (the foreground) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the shapes around you. Because of the value you place on humanity, you tend to seek out other people and get energized by being around others. You like to deal directly with whatever comes your way without dealing with speculating possibilities or outcomes you can't control. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You prefer a structured environment within which to live and you like things to be predictable.

I am in the preliminary stages of planning a new new event which will focus on Japanese martial arts and culture. I am writing various people (mostly in the Austin area) who might either be interested in participating or who might be able to provide input that will help shape the event. Below is an overview of the event and questions related to the various aspects of the event. f you would be willing to provide any input it would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to be removed from this distribution list, please let me know and I will do so. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Overview:
The event will effectively be a Bushido festival. Though, the focus will be primarily Japanese martial arts, it will also encompass Japanese visual and performing arts, religion and culture.

Charitable Cause:
One of the things that is being considered is to have the event benefit a charity. If that direction is taken the first choice would be the Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America (www.tsubakishrine.com). The Tsubaki Shrine is the only full time active Shinto shrine in North America.

Timeframe;
Spring 2010

Venue
Currently under consideration is the Austin Convention Convention Center and the AT&T Conference Center. In the future, other venues may also be considered.

Format
This will be a convention type event and may include demonstrations, classes, movie screenings, and vendor area.

Questions:
1) From an event that bills itself as a Bushido festival, what sort of things would you expect to see and do?

2) If there was a vendor area, what sort of vendors would you want to see?

3) If there was a movie screening area, what movies do you think would be appropriate? What movies would you like to see?

4) What demonstrations or classes (martial arts or otherwise) would you like to see? How long do you think these demonstrations and classes should be? Is there anyone in particular you would want to see giving those presentations?

5) For an event that includes demonstrations, classes, a movie area and a vendors area, what would you be be willing to pay.

6) If you were to be a vendor, what would you be willing to pay for a 10' x 10' space?

7) If you were to place an ad in the event program or have banner advertizing at the event, what would you be willing to spend on these things?

8) If you were to provide a class or demonstration at the event, what, if anything, would you expect in return?

9) Do you have any other ideas, questions or concerns about this event?

Hello All,

So I may be going back to Japan this November, maybe. I may also post pone that until April. If I post pone the Japan trip to April, I will want to get away for a short vacation this October. I'd really like to go some place where I can really experience Autumn.

Here are some places that I am contemplating:

Granite Falls/Seattle Washington
- I am always up for a visit to Tsubaki Shrine (www.tsubakishrine.org). The Science Fiction Museum (www.empsfm.org) would be cool to check out. And what would a trip to Seattle be without a trip to the Uwajimaya Market (www.uwajimaya.com).
Colorado
- I have been wanting to visit the Shambhala Mountain Center (www.shambhalamountain.org) for quite some time. Perhaps I could go do Kyudo in Boulder (www.zenkokyudojo.org).
Washington, DC
- I would love to visit the Smithsonian (www.si.edu/Museums).
New Mexico
- For a while I have been wanting to visit Ten Thousand Waves Resort (www.tenthousandwaves.com). It is basically a Ryokan/Onsen. It looks like a really cool place to unwind.
Nevada
- I've been to Vegas one before and I have been wanting to go back ever since.

I am open to other places. If I could find a good martial arts seminar (Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, Aikido, Judo, Kyudo) that would be cool. I might also be up for some sort of meditation or Reiki retreat/class. Any place with a really good Japanese garden might be good. Museums and historic sites are good, too. Going someplace I have never been I definitely appealing.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Depending on the budget and location, I may be looking to have a travelling partner come along or meet someone who can take me sight seeing. I am also considering a Martial Arts Road Trip where a few people jump in the truck with me and hit different martial arts classes. I suspect that would probably be more of a Texas thing. I might have to rent a van for that. If any of that interests you please let me know.

Take care,
John
